Overall, this Springfield is in good vintage condition with normal age-related wear throughout the barrel, lock, and stock. The barrel and lock are dated 1861. The barrel features "VP" proof marks with Eagle's head. The stock has two visible cartouches on the left side. Barrel bands are marked with "U" proofs.
