This is an antique Springfield Armory 1861 rifled musket chambered for 58 caliber projectiles. It features a 40-inch barrel, percussion ignition system, folding rifle sights, sling swivels, steel ramrod, and bayonet. Overall, this Springfield is in good vintage condition with normal age-related wear throughout the barrel, lock, and stock. The barrel and lock are dated 1861. The barrel features "VP" proof marks with Eagle's head. The stock has two visible cartouches on the left side. Barrel bands are marked with "U" proofs. The lock is in good working condition with two positive clicks and the nipple remains intact. This would be a good choice for collecting. Buy online today!
